Sign up free of charge with your email address and a password. You then confirm your account and can get going straight away. A minimum age of 16 is required; singles search opens at 18.

Fill in your profile first – a photo, a few interests and a short text about you. After that, browse through groups, activities and rideshares. The more complete your profile, the sooner you will find people who suit you.

Wegbegleiter365 runs straight in the browser on phone, tablet and computer – no installation needed. A dedicated app for iOS and Android is in development.

The basics are free: creating a profile, joining groups, taking part in meet-ups and getting to know people. There is an optional Premium membership with extra convenience features.

You can adjust your username in your profile settings. Since it is public and part of your profile address, choose it carefully.

Yes. You can pause your profile if you do not want to be active for a while. Paused profiles are not visible to others – your data and connections stay in place until you come back.

A friendly photo, a few honest interests and a short text about yourself work wonders. Say what you are looking for and what you like doing – that helps others get a proper sense of you.

To protect your privacy, what appears publicly is always your username, never automatically your real first name. Your first name is only shown to you, as a form of address – unless you deliberately share it.

That way you decide for yourself how much of you is visible.

You control visibility yourself. You can decide whether your profile is public, visible only to signed-in members or only to friends – and you can set that separately for individual details.

No. You can limit how precise your location is – showing only the city instead of the exact neighbourhood, for example, or hiding the place entirely. Location data is never used without your consent.

In your gallery you show further photos of yourself and the things you do. Here too you decide who may see the pictures – public, members only or friends only.

On your own profile you can see how completely it is filled in and which details are still missing. Complete profiles find suitable companions faster and come across as more trustworthy.

Who visited your profile is one of the convenience features we keep expanding. Which insights are currently available depends on your membership – you will find the details on the pricing page.

With identity verification you securely confirm that you are the person you say you are. Verified profiles enjoy more trust and unlock certain features.

Profiles are either unverified or verified. Behind the scenes we distinguish levels that unlock additional features – offering rideshares, for example. What you see on the outside is the clear verified seal.

The verified seal shows that a person’s identity has been checked. It is a clear signal of trust: there is a real, confirmed human behind the profile.

When you confirm each other after a meet-up, it counts as a verified meet-up. That confirmation goes both ways – nobody can award it alone.

Verified meet-ups appear on the profile as a signal of trust and show that real encounters genuinely happen here.

It shows to the day when someone was last active – as a guide to how quickly you can expect a reply. It is deliberately not live tracking down to the second, and you can switch the display off in your settings.

When you look at someone else’s profile, we highlight what connects you: shared interests, groups and friends. That makes a good opening and takes the awkwardness out of first contact.

Search for your city directly or browse the map, which shows groups at city level. That way you quickly find what is active around you.

As a rule you can join as many groups as suit you. Pick the ones you really want to be active in – quality beats quantity.

Yes. As founder or administrator you manage the member list and can remove people who do not fit the group or break the rules. That keeps your group a good place to be.

Open a group that suits you and tap “Join”. After that you can see the group feed, upcoming meet-ups and the members. Some groups are open, others take you in after a short request.

As a host you set up your group in a few steps: name, city, a cover image and what it is about. After that you invite people to meet-ups and manage your members.

Your own group is the best way to gather like-minded people around you regularly.

There is the founder, who manages the group, plus administrators and meet-up leads who support them – and the other members. That keeps even a larger group well organised.

In the feed, members share posts, photos and announcements. Posts from groups you belong to also appear in your own profile feed, so you do not miss anything.

Yes. As founder or administrator you upload your own cover image and an icon. That makes your group instantly recognisable – in lists, on the map and in the feed.

You can leave a group at any time via the membership settings. Your existing posts stay untouched, but you no longer receive new content from that group.

As the founder you get statistics about your group – on members and activity, for instance. That shows you what goes down well, so you can plan your meet-ups accordingly.

Once the participant limit is reached, the meet-up is marked as fully booked and you can no longer sign up. Look for similar meet-ups or ask the host whether another one is planned.

As the host you can adjust or cancel your meet-up if something changes. Everyone who signed up should know early – reliability is the foundation of real encounters.

If you have notifications switched on, we remind you about meet-ups you have signed up for. That way you do not miss a date. You configure your alerts in the settings.

Set the title, date, place and – if you like – a participant limit. Your meet-up then appears in your group and among the activities, so others can sign up.

Open the meet-up and sign up with one click. You can see the place, the time and how many people are already coming. If there is a participant limit, you can see how many places are left.

Turn up on time and be open – the rest takes care of itself once you are together. At group meet-ups you often get to know several people at once.

After the meet-up you can confirm to each other that you really did meet. That becomes a verified meet-up, which appears on your profiles as a signal of trust.

Yes. If you cannot make it after all, withdraw in good time so the place frees up. Cancelling fairly keeps the community dependable.

Meet-ups are organised by members and hosts. Alongside them there are events from vetted organisers – workshops, tours or concerts, for example – with clear details on place, price and places available.

If a journey falls through, you hear about it as early as possible and can look for another rideshare. We recommend briefly agreeing the meeting point and time with each other beforehand.

Give your route, the date, the free seats and a fair share of the cost. Passengers see your route transparently and can ask to come along. Offering journeys requires verification – to protect everyone involved.

Browse the journeys on offer, filter by route and time and ask the driver. Seats, price and route are clearly listed up front.

Rideshares are about sharing travel costs, not about profit. The driver states a fair share, which you see before you ask. That keeps it affordable and transparent for everyone.

Drivers go through identity verification and confirm a declaration of their own. After the journey you can rate each other. And as everywhere: you can report or block at any time.

You need a verified profile. We deliberately do not check driving licences or vehicle documents – that responsibility lies with the driver. Identity verification protects both sides and builds trust.

Keep it personal and specific: refer to a shared interest or a group. Every profile shows you what connects you – a good hook to start with.

On every profile you will find the “Send message” button. It starts a direct conversation. In groups you can also talk to each other through the group feed.

With a buddy request you connect more closely with someone. Once you both confirm, you are friends – which, depending on the settings, unlocks more of the profile.

You stay in control: who may contact you depends on your visibility settings. You can block unwanted people at any time.

Act straight away using “Report” and “Block”. Blocked people can no longer see or contact you. We usually review reports within 24 hours.

Your conversations cannot be viewed by other members. We protect personal content such as messages and photos with particular care and process it exclusively on EU servers.

Every report goes to our moderation team and is usually reviewed within 24 hours. Depending on the case we issue warnings, hide content or suspend accounts. Your report stays invisible to the person reported.

Safety is built in with us, not added afterwards: identity verification, mutual meet-up confirmation, an age limit of 16 and the ability to report or block from any view.

All servers are in the EU, and your personal data is particularly well protected.

Meet in a public place the first time, in a café or at a group meet-up for example. Tell someone you trust where you are going, and listen to your gut feeling.

If something does not feel right, end the meeting at any time – you do not owe anyone an explanation.

Blocked people can no longer see you, write to you or interact with you. Blocking is possible at any time and is invisible to the other person.

You can create an account from the age of 16. That is also the age at which you may decide about the processing of your own data in Germany.

Singles search and Funkenflug are partner search and therefore stay reserved for people aged 18 and over. Anyone younger neither sees those areas nor appears in them.

We rely on verification, confirmed meet-ups and active moderation. If you notice a suspicious profile, report it – every report helps keep the community clean.

Adverts can appear in the free version – but only if you have given the corresponding consent. With Premium you use Wegbegleiter365 advert-free.

Premium unlocks extra convenience features – advanced filters, more visibility and an advert-free experience, for example. The basic features stay free.

Payment runs securely through our payment provider. Your payment details are processed there in encrypted form – we do not store full card details.

You can end your Premium membership at any time. Once the paid period runs out you automatically switch back to free use – your profile and your content stay in place.

Coins are a playful reward inside the app: you collect them through activity, for instance by dropping in daily or through real meet-ups. Coins are not a subscription but an extra that rewards taking part.

Through activity you collect experience points and climb levels. Your level and rank are publicly visible and show how active you are in the community.

For certain milestones – many confirmed meet-ups or posts, for example – you receive awards in bronze, silver, gold or platinum. They make your commitment visible.

You adjust both in your account settings. For a new password your old one is enough; a changed email address is confirmed by a confirmation link, for security reasons.

As extra protection you can switch on a second step: after the password we send you a one-time code by email, which you enter to sign in. That keeps your account safe even if someone knows your password.

On your first visit you decide about optional cookies and tracking. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

When signing in you choose how long you stay signed in on this device – 24 hours, 3 days or 1 week. During that period you do not have to sign in again; afterwards you are signed out for security reasons.

On shared devices it is better to switch the option off, so that you are signed out automatically after a short spell of inactivity.

To protect your account we sign you out automatically after a longer spell of inactivity – which is particularly sensible on shared devices. With the “Stay signed in” option you decide for yourself how long you stay signed in.

Use the “Forgotten?” link on the sign-in page. We will email you a secure link for setting a new password.

Yes. In your settings you decide what you want to be told about. That way you only get the alerts that matter to you.

All data is held on servers in the EU and processed according to the requirements of the GDPR. We protect particularly sensitive content such as photos and messages with special care.

Yes. You can request a copy of the data we hold about you. That way you always keep an overview of what is stored about you.

You can delete your account yourself at any time. Your personal data is then removed permanently and in line with data protection rules.
