For many, the way home is the least safe moment of the day. With a few trusted people at your side it feels completely different.
Alone, the way home is often the worst part
The dark underpass, the empty bus stop, the long walk from the station. Many people – especially those living alone – know that uneasy feeling. You don’t have to bear it alone.
Trusted people, not strangers

How it works – in three steps
You set off
In the evening, after the concert, after the late shift: with one tap let one of your groups know you’re heading home now – and roughly where to.
Your people watch along
Your group sees your way home live – watching from the sofa or genuinely walking a stretch with you. You’re not alone, without having to call anyone.
You arrive safely
Once in the destination area you tap “Arrived safely” – or it’s detected automatically. Only then does the watching end and your location is no longer shared.
Your data stays your business
We build for an audience for whom trust is everything. So for every way home: as little data as possible, visible to as few people as necessary.
Only your group sees you
Your way home is never public. It’s visible solely to the one group you notify – never to strangers nearby, never to the whole platform.
Location only if you want
Sharing your location is voluntary and runs only during the active way home. Afterwards it ends automatically. Even without location, your group still sees your arrival time.
Always just a 50-metre radius
Start and destination areas are deliberately stored rounded to a rough 50-metre radius – never your exact front door. Feel free to set your destination to a lamppost or stop nearby.
EU servers, GDPR-compliant
All data is held on servers in Frankfurt. Location data is processed only for the current way home and is not combined into movement profiles.

Do I need an account for this?
Yes. The way-home companion runs through your groups and is only visible to people you’re already in a group with. The account is free.
What if it gets serious?
You can press the emergency button at any time: your group is alerted immediately and sees your last location. In acute danger you always call 112 first – we show the dial button right there, but deliberately don’t forward automatically.
Do my companions see my exact address?
No. Only a rough 50-metre radius is ever shown. It’s best to set your destination area to a public spot nearby – a corner, a lamppost, a stop.
Does the way-home companion cost anything?
No. The way-home companion is part of Wegbegleiter365 and free for all members.
